Tzofim Australia

Building Community, Identity, and Leadership

Tzofim Australia is a Hebrew-speaking, values-based youth movement serving Israeli and Jewish children and teens since 2013. Through year-round programming, we strengthen Jewish-Israeli identity, develop young leadership, and create a strong sense of belonging for participants and their families.

Rooted in Israeli culture and informal education, our activities -weekly programs, camps, and community events- connect youth to Hebrew, heritage, and Israel, while building responsibility and leadership skills within a supportive community framework.

Core Pillars:

  1. Hebrew and Jewish-Israeli identity

Programs conducted in Hebrew, strengthening language, culture, and connection to Israel and Judaism.
  2. Youth leadership

Teens lead and shape activities, developing confidence and responsibility for the future of their community.

  3. Community anchor
A central hub for families, fostering connection, belonging, and support.

  4. Global connection
Part of Tzofim Olami, linking youth in Australia with peers in Israel and worldwide.

Our work

Israel Scouts Australia empowers young people through a range of programs based on the values of Zionism, leadership, and social responsibility:

Tzofim Chapters

Tzofim Tzabar is the global youth movement, operating across North America, Europe, and Australia, with 4 chapters located in Australia. Through Hebrew-based programming, it strengthens Jewish identity, leadership, and connection to Israel, fostering belonging and active community engagement.

Cultural Celebrations

Events that bring together families and communities around Israeli and Jewish holidays, creating a shared sense of belonging.

Leadership Development

Training teens to take responsibility and lead their peers through a proven youth-leadership model.

Hagshama Programs

Programs such as Shnat Sherut (service year), Mechina (pre-army leadership programs), and academic programs enable deeper involvement in Israeli society.

Our Impact

Volunteer Leadership

Each chapter is guided and run by a dedicated team of volunteer leaders—parents and community members—who provide guidance and inspiration. This volunteer infrastructure deepens the sense of community, ensures continuity, and contributes to a supportive environment for the personal development of young people.

Community Impact

Australia’s Tzofim chapters play a central role in building community connections. Beyond weekly activities, families they take an active part in events that unite the community, such as ceremonies and gatherings marking Israeli national and Jewish holidays, including Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel Independence Day) and Yom HaZikaron (Memorial Day). These events connect different parts of the community and enable respectful commemoration and celebration of Israeli heritage and values.
