Tzofim North America

Empowering the Next Generation of Jewish Leaders

Tzofim North America is a leading Jewish-Israeli youth movement, active in dozens of communities and engaging thousands of teens, alumni, and families each year. Building on decades of activity, the movement serves as a vibrant educational and communal framework that strengthens Jewish identity, fosters leadership, and deepens connection to Israel. Through a model of “youth leading youth,” participants take responsibility, lead their peers, connect with their Jewish identity and shape meaningful community life.

Our work is built around a clear educational approach:

  1. Hebrew as a living culture
Weekly programming in Hebrew creates an authentic connection to Israeli culture and strengthens a shared sense of identity.
  2. Youth leadership in action
Teens lead, guide, and educate their peers, developing responsibility, initiative, and confidence.
  3. Community-driven impact
A strong network of teens, alumni and parents serve as Jewish-Israeli emissaries and creates a committed and values-based community.
  4. A meaningful connection to Israel
Through camps, delegations, and immersive experiences, participants build lasting ties to Israeli society and Jewish peoplehood.

Our work

Tzofim North America operates a variety of meaningful programs that connect Jewish youth to their heritage, their communities, and Israel.

Tzofim Chapters

Tzofim Tzabar is the global youth movement, operating across North America, Europe, and Australia, with 29 chapters in North America. Through Hebrew-based programming, it strengthens Jewish identity, leadership, and connection to Israel, fostering belonging and active community engagement.

Garin Tzabar

Tzofim Olami’s flagship Aliyah program supports young Jewish adults (18–24) from around the world who choose to build their future in Israel.

The program provides a comprehensive framework- from preparation abroad to absorption and long-term integration in Israel- within supportive group settings and with ongoing personal, social, and professional guidance.

Chetz V'Keshet

A four-week experiential program in Israel for teens in grades 9–12 from North America. Participants travel alongside Israeli teens, deepen their connection to Israel, Hebrew, and Jewish identity, and take part in Gadna, volunteering, and leadership development.

The Summer Delegation & Friendship Caravan

Each year, selected teens form Israel join the our  Summer Delegation, participating in summer camps and community programs across North America while sharing Israeli culture, Hebrew, and personal stories. Through Tzofim Olami’s “Friendship Caravan”- a joyful show of teens performing Hebrew songs and Israeli dancing, we work towards strengthening the connection between Israel and Jewish communities, creating meaningful cultural and personal engagement.

Tzababa

A unique summer experience in Israel in which Israel Scouts participants from North America take part in an authentic Israeli Scouts camp in the heart of nature. Participants build connections with Israeli teens, develop independence and leadership, and deepen their personal connection to Israel.

Macahne B'Yachad

A 14-day summer camp for children ages 8–13, combining Scout activities, camp life, and the strengthening of Hebrew in an experiential and supportive environment. Participants are exposed to Israeli culture, build confidence in the language, and form meaningful friendships with their peers.

Community Impact

For more than 30 years, Tzofim North America has been working to strengthen the connection of youth and the Israeli-Jewish community to Israeli culture, Zionism, and the Hebrew language.

The chapters serve as active community centers, where weekly activities are held in Hebrew and are based on the model of “youth educating youth.” This unique model places teens at the forefront of educational leadership and fosters leadership, personal responsibility, a sense of belonging, and a deep connection to Jewish-Israeli identity.

The Role of the Shlichim

The activity of Tzofim North America is guided by a professional team that works year-round and leads the organization’s educational development, organizational support, and community growth. The emissaries from Israel are a significant part of this team, both at the leadership level and within the chapters themselves, contributing their professional experience, language, and personal identity to create a deep and authentic connection to Israel, the Hebrew language, and Israeli culture.

Volunteer Leadership

The weekly activities are led by a dedicated leadership team of volunteers — teens, alumni, and parents — who implement the educational program on the ground and guide the participants throughout the program year. This combination of professional staff, emissaries, and volunteers creates a stable and meaningful educational framework that enables consistent, high-quality programming.
