Founded in 1995 as the Friends of Scouting Israel (FOIS), Scouting North America is part of World Scouting – a global independent Zionist movement that aims to strengthen Jewish identity, foster leadership, and build a lasting connection to the State of Israel among Jewish youth around the world. World Scouting serves as a bridge between Israeli and Diaspora Jewish communities and their roots, heritage, and the State of Israel. Based on the values of the Hebrew Scouting movement in Israel, Scouting North America integrates these traditions into its activities, ensuring participants have a deep and authentic connection to Israeli culture and identity. Since our inception, we have impacted more than 30,000 participants through innovative programs that combine cultural education, leadership development, and social engagement.

At the heart of the success of Boy Scouts North America is the Israeli emissaries. These dedicated emissaries serve as cultural bridges, bringing the spirit of Israel and its values to the tribes they lead.
